Developing albums provides a great opportunity to continue exploring the intersection of art and technology – combining music and performance with computers, mixers, and software. With only one week to go before the general release of In The Good Old Summertime, here’s to two key software programs that made this album possible:
Musescore is a full-featured – and completely free – environment for developing sheet music, and was used to develop all of the musical arrangements on the album.
Reaper was used to combine the different instrumental lines coming from MuseScore, to record all vocals, and to develop the final mix used on the album.
In The Good Old Summertime is available today for early release on Bandcamp, and on all major streaming services (Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, YouTube, and more) starting June 20 (the first day of Summer, 2021).
